| So who has gotten their license yet? Private or school? Pros and Cons? For private, which instructors? Why good? Why bad? I've just applied for my PDL. Taking my first driving tomorrow. Oh, and I'm a private student.

| I've gotten my licence in July 2003. Was a very bad student..Can you believe it? I took basic theory twice, advanced theory 4 times and the practical test 3 times, before I passed!! =P Still, I got my licence after spending 2k ++. =) Learnt driving under a private instructor..Frankly speaking private will be better as you'll be accustomed to the car by the time you go for your practical. And if you are good enough, from passing of advanced theory to passing practical will takes only about 6 to 9 months max. Good luck, babe to your driving lessons.. =) |

| wooooooooo i am from BBDC. I know private is mostly cheaper and you can get customised teaching and etc but school is structured, make sure you learn everything. but of cos now, every single process need to pay. so.... $_$ i did quite well until my practical, i was barely moving the car and my back wheel touched the side of the kerb, that SUPER NIAO TP tick immediate failure. whatever. i drive like a pro now! okok joking... just not the typical afraid and slow female drivers like what guys would envision my license almost 3 yrs already. 28th sept. any present for that? _________________ Do check the respective threads regularly for updates! | AIYAAAAAAAA. Finally! I'm done with my 1st lesson. It was......... amazing. lol Very nervous initially! Well, I don't really like my instructor today, although he was really nice and friendly. He speaks softly and instructions were not clear. I had a hard time figuring out what he wanted me to do.. and what he actually wanted to teach me. (Thank God my next lesson, Thurs is not him again.. geez) I felt a little cheated coz when I booked with this person, I wasn't told that there will be enrollment fee and deposit... and, I didn't know they are charging $3 more for weekends/P.H!! But overall it was a fun experience. I simply drove around and learnt signaling (-_-) at carpark, and drove out of the place to the main road where there's traffic and MANY cars. Sooo scary! I'm still not very sure of the clutch though! Argh! |

u mean the 10 mile Junction there , left side is Sheng Siong ? i often past by there, everyday bound to have alot of learner drivers there.
i guess i am lousy. I passed on my 3rd attempts. i took my basic 5 TIMES~~~!!~!~ hahaha. final theory once. spent around 2.7k i guess. was from SSDC. |
That's ALOT of money. Geez. Now I understand why people would often say you need to invest on driving before you can get your license. |

| hahaha though i learn in BBDC i think i spent only 1.8k evo, not really the 10-mile. more of the phoenix lrt? there is crazy cos got a U-turn spot there. You can wait for eons to turn if you're scared or first-timer. Ppl wont give way man. But now whenever I pass by there (cos I give tuition at BB central) I try to help those Learners la. hehe. _________________ Do check the respective threads regularly for updates! | Hahah I'm taking manual driving now at Comfort Ubi. Sianzz..my lesson 14 tmr. And instructor like urging me to apply for practical test in july. =x maybe i kia si, dun wanna apply yet. But my learning seem quite fast leh, dun have confidence yet. Haizz At 1st i very nervous too esp driving on e roads ard sch. Sianz always got big buses and trucks. Stupid taxis anyhow cut in and some even anyhow do 3-point turns. >.< I think only driving students obey e traffic rules lor...some drivers do illegal u turns de. Next time really driving on the road must be even careful. Suddenly got pple do unexpected actions. _________________ |
